App Store vs Web Billing

Video 1.10 — Install UVettd on Your Phone — coming soon to the Lens tab.

UVettd is available on the web and through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The plan features are identical — but the prices are not, and who handles your billing matters when it comes to refunds and switching.

Why App Store Prices Are Higher

Apple and Google charge a 30% platform fee on all in-app purchases and subscriptions sold through their stores. UVettd has no control over this fee. Rather than absorbing it, the difference is passed through in App Store pricing — which is why subscribing through the web is less expensive for the same plan.

Price Comparison

Plan Web (uvettd.com) App Store (iOS/Android)
Intentional $29/month $34.99/month
Devoted $49/month $69.99/month

How to Switch to Web Billing and Save

You can move from App Store billing to web billing at any time to get the lower price. Do these steps in order — subscribing through the web first ensures you never lose access:

  1. Go to uvettd.com/pricing on any browser and subscribe to the plan you want.
  2. Confirm your web subscription is active and you have full access.
  3. Open your device's App Store settings (iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Subscriptions).
  4. Find your UVettd subscription and cancel it there.

Canceling through the App Store does not cancel your web subscription — they are separate billing relationships. After you cancel the App Store subscription, you will continue to have access through your App Store billing period, and your web subscription will carry forward from there.

Timing the Switch

Subscribe through the web before you cancel the App Store subscription. If you cancel first, there may be a gap in access before your web subscription activates, depending on your timing within the billing cycle. The order matters.

Refunds for App Store Purchases

Apple and Google manage their own billing and refund processes. UVettd cannot process refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases — we do not have access to those payment records. If you need a refund for an App Store charge, contact Apple or Google directly:

  • Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com or Settings → your name → Subscriptions → UVettd → Report a Problem
  • Google: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions → UVettd → Manage

Common questions about this topic

How do I cancel my App Store subscription?
On iOS: go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → tap UVettd → Cancel Subscription. On Android: open Google Play → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → UVettd → Cancel. Do not cancel through UVettd — cancellation must happen in your device's store settings to be recognized by Apple or Google.
Will I lose my data if I switch from App Store to web billing?
No. All your evaluations, CAMERA Method™ scores, Compass values, and Presence entries are tied to your UVettd account, not your billing method. Your data is fully preserved when you switch. Log in with the same email address and everything will be there.
Is Founder pricing available on the App Store?
No. Founder pricing requires entering a coupon code at checkout, which is only supported through web billing at uvettd.com. App Store subscriptions use Apple and Google pricing and cannot apply UVettd coupon codes.
What if I have both an App Store subscription and a web subscription active at the same time?
Both would charge you separately. If this happens, cancel the App Store subscription immediately through your device store settings, and contact support@uvettd.com with your account email and the charge details — we'll help sort it out.
