We know billing questions are stressful — here's exactly how to update your payment method and what to expect.

Keeping your payment method current ensures your subscription continues without interruption. UVettd uses Stripe to handle all payment processing, and you manage your card details through the Stripe customer portal — a secure page that opens directly from your UVettd account settings.

How to Update Your Payment Method

  1. Open UVettd and go to Account.
  2. Tap or click Billing.
  3. Select Manage Payment Method.
  4. This opens the Stripe customer portal in your browser.
  5. Add or update your card details and save.

Changes take effect immediately. Your updated payment method will be used for the next scheduled charge.

Supported Payment Methods

UVettd (via Stripe) accepts all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported on compatible devices and browsers.

At this time, PayPal is not supported as a direct payment method through the Stripe portal.

3-Day Grace Period on Payment Failures

If a payment attempt fails — for example, because a card expired — you are not immediately downgraded. UVettd provides a 3-day grace period during which you keep full access to your paid tier while you update your payment information. You'll receive a failure notification email with a direct link to the Stripe portal.

There is no action required beyond updating your card. Stripe will retry the charge automatically after your method is updated. If the payment isn't resolved within the grace period, your account will downgrade to the Curious tier — but your data is always preserved.

If the Stripe Portal Link Doesn't Open

Occasionally the Stripe portal link may not load, usually due to browser extensions or cookies being blocked. Try these steps:

  • Open the link in a different browser or an incognito/private window.
  • Disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions temporarily.
  • If the issue persists, contact support@uvettd.com and we'll send you a direct portal link.

App Store Subscribers

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your payment method is managed by Apple or Google — not UVettd. To update your payment information, go to your device's App Store or Play Store settings and update the card on file there.

Common questions about this topic

What if my card expires before my next billing date?
Update your payment method before the billing date to avoid any interruption. If the charge fails because the card expired, the 3-day grace period applies — you won't lose access immediately. You'll receive an email with a link to update your card right away.
Can I use PayPal?
Not at this time. UVettd's payment portal supports major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. PayPal is not currently available as a payment option.
Will I lose access while updating my payment method?
No. Updating your payment method does not interrupt your subscription. If you're updating in response to a failed payment, you have a 3-day grace period and keep full access throughout. There is no downtime during the update process.
Is the Stripe portal secure?
Yes. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. UVettd never stores your card details directly — all sensitive payment data is handled entirely by Stripe's secure infrastructure.
Can I add multiple payment methods and switch between them?
Yes. The Stripe customer portal lets you save and manage multiple cards and set a default. You can switch which card is used for future billing at any time through the portal.
