Exporting Data and Deleting Your Account

Take your data with you — or close the door entirely. Here's exactly how both work.

Video 1.1 — Our Story + What Is UVettd — coming soon to the Lens tab.

You have full control over your UVettd data. You can export everything before you go, you can delete your account and everything in it, or you can cancel your subscription without touching your data at all. These are three distinct actions. Understanding the difference matters — especially given how UVettd's zero-knowledge encryption works.

Exporting Your Data

To request a data export, navigate to Account → Settings → Export Data. You can choose between two formats:

  • PDF: A human-readable document — good for reviewing your own history or keeping a personal record
  • JSON: A structured data file — good if you want to import your data into another tool or archive it programmatically

Both export formats include your UVettd Compass values, prospect names, CAMERA Method™ scores, and conversation summaries from your Vetted evaluations. Your export is processed and delivered to your account email address. Processing typically takes a few minutes for smaller accounts and up to a few hours for accounts with extensive evaluation histories.

Deleting Your Account

Account deletion is an irreversible action. Before you proceed, export your data if you want a copy of anything — once deletion is initiated, that option is gone.

  1. Go to Account → Settings → Delete Account
  2. You'll be asked to confirm your intent with a typed confirmation
  3. Deletion processing begins immediately and completes within 30 days

During the 30-day window, your account is deactivated but the deletion process is still completing on the backend. Encrypted ciphertext (Tier 2 data) is destroyed as part of this process — and because it was zero-knowledge encrypted, destruction of the ciphertext means destruction of the content. There is no recovery path once deletion is underway.

What Happens to Encrypted Data on Deletion

Your prospect conversations, CAMERA Method™ evaluations, and Presence entries are Tier 2 zero-knowledge encrypted data. When your account is deleted, this ciphertext is destroyed on our servers. Because we hold no decryption key, we cannot reconstruct what it contained — and no backup process captures readable versions of Tier 2 data. This is intentional. It's the same architectural principle that keeps your data private while your account is active.

Canceling a Subscription Is Not the Same as Deleting Your Account

This is the most important distinction on this page. When you cancel your subscription, you stop being billed and your plan downgrades. Your data is retained in its encrypted state. Your account still exists. If you want your data removed, you must take the explicit deletion action above — cancellation alone does not trigger it.

Your Privacy Rights — CCPA and VCDPA

If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights over your data. If you're a Virginia resident, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) applies. Under both laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data UVettd holds about you
  • Correct: Request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Delete: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, use the export and deletion tools in your account settings or contact support@uvettd.com with your request. UVettd processes all verified rights requests within the statutory response window.

Common questions about this topic

If I cancel my subscription, is my data deleted?
No. Canceling your subscription stops future billing and downgrades your plan, but your data remains on UVettd's servers in its encrypted state. Explicit account deletion is required to remove your data. You'll find that option at Account → Settings → Delete Account.
How long does account deletion take?
Account deletion is processed within 30 days of your request. Your account is deactivated immediately, and the backend deletion — including destruction of your encrypted Tier 2 data — completes within that window.
Can I get my data back after deletion?
No. Once account deletion is complete, your Tier 2 data (prospect evaluations, CAMERA Method™ scores, Presence entries, Vetted conversations) is permanently unrecoverable. The ciphertext is destroyed and we hold no key that could reconstruct it. Export your data before deleting if there's anything you want to keep.
What data is included in the export?
Your export includes your UVettd Compass values and Never-Agains, prospect names, CAMERA Method™ scores, and conversation summaries from Vetted. Tier 1 account data (email, billing history) is also included. Tier 2 content is decrypted using your credentials at export time and included in readable form in the output file.
I'm not in California or Virginia — do I still have privacy rights?
Yes. CCPA and VCDPA are the two most comprehensive state-level privacy laws in the US, and UVettd applies their principles to all users regardless of location. The right to access, correct, delete, and port your data is honored for every UVettd account.
