If you decide UVettd is no longer for you, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data. Here's exactly what happens and how your rights are protected.
How to Delete Your Account
- Go to Account → Settings → Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation screen — deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Confirm your decision by entering your email address when prompted.
- Submit the deletion request. You'll receive an email acknowledging the request.
Deletion is processed within 30 days. You'll receive a final confirmation email when your data has been fully removed.
What Gets Deleted
All Tier 2 (zero-knowledge encrypted) data is permanently destroyed when you delete your account. This includes:
- Prospect names and profiles
- Vetted conversation messages (all sessions)
- CAMERA Method™ scores and observations
- Presence journal entries
Tier 2 data is encrypted end-to-end — only you can read it while your account is active. When deleted, the ciphertext is destroyed. Even if any portion were somehow recoverable, it would be permanently unreadable without your encryption key, which is also destroyed.
Tier 1 account data — your email address, billing records, and transaction history — is retained as required by financial regulations and tax law, but is not used for any product purpose after deletion.
Important: Canceling Is Not the Same as Deleting
Canceling your subscription stops future billing but does not delete your account or data. Your account remains active on the Curious (free) tier, and your data is preserved. If you want your data removed, you must explicitly request account deletion through the steps above — cancellation alone is not enough.
Your Privacy Rights
UVettd honors privacy rights under multiple frameworks. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act): the right to know what data is collected about you, the right to correct inaccurate data, the right to delete your data, and the right to data portability. If you are a Virginia resident, the same rights apply under the VCDPA (Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act).
To exercise any of these rights — including requesting a data export before deletion — email support@uvettd.com with the subject line "Privacy Rights Request". We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
The Zero-Knowledge Guarantee
UVettd's architecture means we cannot read your Tier 2 data even before you delete it. Your prospect evaluations and CAMERA Method™ scores are encrypted in your browser before they ever reach our servers. We store only ciphertext. When you delete your account, we destroy that ciphertext. There is no recovery path — not for you, not for us, not under any circumstance.
Common questions about this topic
- How do I know my data was actually deleted?
- You will receive a confirmation email within 30 days of your deletion request confirming that your Tier 2 data has been destroyed. If you do not receive this email after 30 days, contact support@uvettd.com with your original request date and we will investigate.
- Can I cancel my account deletion within the 30-day window?
- Yes — if you change your mind after submitting a deletion request, contact support@uvettd.com as soon as possible with "Cancel Deletion Request" in the subject line. We can halt the process if deletion has not yet been completed. Once the deletion confirmation email has been sent, the process is complete and cannot be reversed.
- Does deleting my account cancel my subscription automatically?
- Yes. When your account is deleted, your active subscription is canceled as part of the process — you will not be charged again after your deletion is processed. You do not need to separately cancel in Stripe or your App Store settings, though App Store subscribers may want to confirm cancellation through Apple or Google as well.
- Can I export my data before deleting?
- Yes. You can request a data export before submitting your deletion request. Email support@uvettd.com with subject "Data Export Request." Note that Tier 2 data is stored as encrypted ciphertext on our servers — the export reflects what we hold, and decryption requires your original encryption key (derived from your password at login).
