The UVettd badge isn't a participation ribbon. It's a signal. When you display it, you're telling potential partners — without having to explain yourself — that you've taken intentional dating seriously enough to do a real self-assessment. That context changes the quality of the conversations that follow.

What the Badge Signals

Your badge communicates that you've completed a values-aligned self-assessment through the UVettd Compass and engaged with the ShowUp photo intelligence process. It doesn't claim you're perfect — it claims you're self-aware. For the kind of people who notice it, that distinction matters more than any curated profile photo.

How to Download Your Badge

  1. Navigate to the You tab in the bottom navigation
  2. Select ShowUp
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your results screen
  4. Tap Download Badge

Your badge downloads as a high-resolution image file, ready to use anywhere. There's no compression or watermark that degrades on upload — it's designed to look clean on dating apps, social profiles, and anywhere else you post images.

The QR Watermark — What It Is and How It Works

Every badge includes a subtle QR watermark embedded in the design. When someone scans it — on your dating profile, your social media, wherever — they're taken directly to a sign-up page with your personal referral code pre-filled. If they create an account, the referral is attributed to you automatically. No manual sharing, no copy-paste codes needed on your end.

This means your badge passively works for you. You don't have to talk about UVettd or pitch anyone. Someone curious enough to scan will find their own way in, and you'll get credit for it.

Where to Use Your Badge

  • Dating app profiles: As a secondary photo or an added image in your portfolio — it signals intentionality to anyone who recognizes it
  • Instagram / social media: In your bio highlight, as a story, or on your profile grid
  • Substack or content platforms: In your author bio or header image
  • Anywhere you describe yourself: If someone is deciding whether to swipe right or click follow, a badge that says "I know who I am" is a useful signal

If You're a Partner or Affiliate

Partners and affiliates have the same badge mechanics as all users — your badge contains your unique referral QR watermark, and anyone who signs up through your badge scan is attributed to your account. You don't need to display the badge to participate as a partner, but it's one of the most frictionless ways to drive referrals because the badge does the work for you.

Common questions about this topic

Can people actually scan the QR on my badge?
Yes. The QR watermark is functional — any standard QR scanner or smartphone camera pointed at your badge will pick it up and open your referral sign-up link. It's subtle by design but fully scannable.
Does my badge expire?
No. Once you've earned your badge, it's yours indefinitely. The QR watermark links to your referral code, which remains active as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, the QR link will no longer function.
Do I need to use my badge to be a UVettd partner?
No. The badge is optional — it's a convenient referral tool, not a requirement for partner participation. You can drive referrals through your personal link in any way you choose.
Is there a couples version of the badge?
If you and your partner are both in Chosen and have completed the relevant Lens certifications, you'll each have your own individual badge. There's also a joint Aligned or Enduring Lens badge available for couples who've earned those certifications together.
